Model Bal Vatika Centre – DIET Morigaon

In alignment with the vision of NEP 2020 and its strong emphasis on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), DIET Morigaon has established a Model Bal Vatika Centre. The centre was formally inaugurated on 17 June 2025.

It serves as a demonstration and learning space for quality ECCE practices. Anganwadi workers, children, and guardians are invited from time to time for awareness programmes and experience sharing. The centre provides meaningful exposure to ECCE children through play-based and activity-oriented learning.

It also functions as a training and exposure site for D.El.Ed. trainees, enabling them to develop practical skills in working with young learners. The initiative reflects DIET Morigaon’s commitment to strengthening early childhood education practices.

Skill Development Centre @ DIET Morigaon

The Skill Development Centre at DIET, Morigaon functions as an important institutional platform for enhancing the professional competencies of pre-service and in-service teachers as well as other stakeholders in the education system.

The Centre focuses on developing practical skills related to pedagogy, communication, classroom management, ICT integration, vocational orientation, and life skills, in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Through workshops, training programmes, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, the Centre aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and classroom practices, while also promoting employability skills, creativity, and self-reliance.

Overall, the Skill Development Centre contributes significantly to capacity building and quality improvement in teacher education within Morigaon district of Assam.
